Hurricane Fred - Bio
Hurricane Fred is a four-piece jazz funk combo featuring Sydney musicians Richard Booth (sax and steel drums), Bobby Donaldson (drums and vocals), Chris Frazier (bass) and Nigel Date (guitar). These musicians between them have extensive experience playing all over the world.
The music of Hurricane Fred is heavily influenced by New Orleans style music. The band plays mouldy old jazz to contemporary funk as well as the music of the Caribbean Islands, Texan style blues and classic swinging jazz.
Hurricane Fred is jazz and funk with some dirt, yet stylish. All presented with a small dose of healthy humour and irreverence guaranteed to create a fun-filled atmosphere ripe for grooving and dancing.
