Sophie - Lead Vocal

The past few years have seen Sophie Wilson gearing up to take on whatever world she lands herself in. The beginnings of an honors degree and a lineup of gigs with some of the country's top musicians are just some of the things that have been keeping this 21 year old busy.

Sophie recently performed a run of gigs with the super funky band Greg Lyons Hip-Operation as a guest vocalist. Sophie has also been leading her own band "Sophie Wilson & the Groove Movement" performing in Sydney and the NSW North Coast. 2009 is also the year Sophie is making ready to record and release an EP, with songwriting up there on the list of things to do and a recent appearance as support for Melbourne's Monique Brumby affirming the soul in her original writing.

Sophie has also been busy fronting Groove Embassy and has been entertaining audiences with her powerful voice and interpretations of dance classics!

Tess - Lead Vocal

** PLEASE DESCRIBE THIS IMAGE **Tess Hathaway is an upcoming 22 year-old singer/songwriter, who is emerging in Sydney's live music scene.

Tess recently moved to Sydney after three years of living and performing on New South Wales' north coast- regularly performing at The Beach Hotel, The Railway Friendly Bar and The Great Northern Hotel- Byron Bay; The Lennox Point Hotel- Lennox Head; and The Bangalow Hotel- Bangalow. Tess' musical style has evolved over the years giving her a distinct pop sound with R&B flavors.

In 2004, at just 17 years of age, Tess supported The Whitlams frontman, Tim Freedman on his Australian tour for sold-out shows at The Basement, The Brass Monkey (Cronulla), and The Heritage Hotel. Tess was also chosen to feature as a soloist at the Sydney Opera House's Encore, Choral, and Instrumental concerts in 2001/2002/2003/2004.

Gene Fehlberg - Guitar and Vocal

Gene's musical journey started at age 13, after much scope to the find the right instrument, settling for nothing but the best - the guitar.

Finding his passion Gene started playing in bands after much practice on the instrument, getting private lessons from local players in the Byron Bay area. Soon Gene was playing professionally in covers bands around the circuit, as well as frequenting jam nights to play with the best local talent.

He started university in 2005 to complete a three-year contemporary music course majoring in guitar, under guitar guru Jim Kelly. Gene received top marks from the course and gained a whole lot of concepts and information, on how to play and approach the instrument.

Whilst at university Gene played in a jazz funk quartet, The Monarchs, played for the Southern Cross University big Band led by Ken Stubbs, and played in covers band Groove Embassy doing all local venues on the north coast of NSW. He also played in various duos and originals acts.

Gene's styles include Rock, Blues, Fusion, Folk, Funk and Country. Guitar influences include Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, John Scofield, Ian Moss, Scott Henderson Wayne Krantz, Jim Kelly, John Mayer, George Benson, Jeff Lang, and Eric Clapton (acoustic).

Andrew Couttie - Bass and Backing Vocal

Andrew is one of Sydney's up and coming bass players.

Originally from Geelong, Victoria, Andrew started playing the bass at age 10. From there he went on to study at the Melbourne Conservatorium of music and Southern Cross University while along the way performing with many different artists in all genres, across a variety of mediums including TV, radio and movies.

A fluent reader and improviser, Andrew has spent the last year performing overseas in a variety of big bands and vocal acts.

Artists that Andrew has played with include: Diana Anaid, Miss Donne, The Nightcap Orchestra, Kurtis and Ross Ward as well as many other acts here and abroad.

Izaac Blomley - Drums

Izaac might only be just 21 years of age, but in his short life he has already achieved so much in the music world firstly as a drummer, and occasionally as a singer and guitarist.

Izaac recently moved to Sydney to further his drumming career and has recently joined up with Groove Embassy and Tess Hathaway (pop singer/songwriter) after completing a Bachelor of Contemporary music at Southern Cross University in Lismore under drummer Dave Sanders. During his time on the north coast he performed in many groups and has played all musical styles from Latin and Jazz to Rock.

Izaac's playing has been featured on albums by The Black Lullaby, Dakarpo, and Tess Hathaway's Ep, Where, which he also co-produced. In 2002, 2003, and 2004 he was chosen as a featured artist to play at the Sydney Opera House's annual Instrumental concerts on African drums and percussion.

Throughout the years, Izaac has been described as a highly creative and musical drummer by his mentors and fellow musicians alike, and his talents have seen him play throughout Australia.
